Project Finance Director/CFO

We are seeking a dynamic Project Finance Director/CFO to spearhead the financial strategy and capital management of our Biomass Pellet and Charcoal initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving project funding through financial institutions, private credit markets, and public offerings. It requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in government incentives and subsidies within the biomass energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully raising funds for new projects, robust financial acumen, and the ability to ensure strict compliance with Indian regulatory standards and international corporate best practices.

Key Responsibilities/CFO

✔Strategic Financial Planning & Funding:

Fundraising Leadership: Identify, negotiate, and secure funding from banks, private credit markets, venture capital, and public markets.

Capital Structuring: Develop optimal capital structures and assess various financing options to support project expansion and sustainability.

Government Incentives & Subsidies: Leverage in-depth knowledge of state and central government financial support programs, subsidies, and incentives to maximize project viability.

✔Budgeting & Contract Administration:

Budget Oversight: Prepare and manage comprehensive budgets for bamboo plantation and pellet plant projects, ensuring transparent financial controls and reporting.

Contract Negotiations: Lead the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, including procurement agreements and vendor partnerships, maintaining compliance with legal and corporate policies.

✔Financial Governance & Compliance:

Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all financial operations meet Indian legal requirements and align with global best practices in corporate governance.

Risk Management: Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks associated with large-scale agricultural and industrial projects.

✔Project Management & Execution:

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical, engineering, and project teams to align financial goals with project milestones—covering land acquisition, plant design, machinery installation, and commissioning.

Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and maintain robust financial reporting systems to track progress, control costs, and manage timelines across all project stages.

✔Stakeholder & Vendor Relations:

Investor Relations: Maintain transparent and proactive communication with investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.

Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with engineering firms, equipment suppliers, and service providers to ensure smooth financial transactions and contractual compliance.

✔Team Leadership & Development:

Required Qualifications & Experience

✔Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

✔Experience:

Minimum 10+ years in senior finance roles (e.g., Finance Director, CFO, or Project Finance Lead), specifically in renewable energy, agro-based industries, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated success in raising capital for new projects through banks, private credit markets, public markets, and government-led financing schemes.

Strong background in managing project budgets, commercial contracts, and compliance within regulated frameworks.

✔Technical & Sector Knowledge:

Proficiency in financial modeling, project budgeting, and capital expenditure planning.
Familiarity with biomass or renewable energy technologies, including an understanding of pellet plant design, is advantageous.
